Kiss wa Sousa no Ato de, starring Watanabe Shu and Saito Ryu, is a romantic comedy BL adapted from Suu’s manga of the same name.
Set in a quiet rural town, the story follows 38-year-old police chief Tako Heisuke, a kind-hearted officer who values traditional ideals, and 28-year-old elite policeman Shiono Hide, whose sharp tongue and cold attitude make him seem like Tako’s natural enemy. The two men work at the local police station and live next door to each other in a dormitory for unmarried officers.
While Shiono constantly acts distant and unfriendly toward Tako, the truth is that he has been hiding his feelings for him all along. His frustration grows even stronger when Tako is introduced to a woman through a matchmaking arrangement.
Tako, who has long believed that men should be strong and women should be protected, has stopped paying much attention to romance. However, Shiono’s unpredictable advances gradually begin to shake his convictions, and Tako slowly realizes the comfort and security he feels whenever he is with him.
Blending comedy, workplace life, and slow-building romance, Kiss wa Sousa no Ato de tells the story of two policemen whose relationship changes in unexpected ways.
The series premieres on July 26 and airs every Sunday at 24:10 on ABC TV.
