Usa Takuma and Hirano Kohshu to Star in the Drama “Depth of Field” (被写界深度)
Adapted from the BL manga of the same name by Sonoo.
📷 Synopsis:
Hayakawa Shuuichirou (played by Usa Takuma) is a high school student who has closed off his heart and abandoned the music he once loved due to a painful event in his past.
At times, he attempts to fill the void inside him through fleeting physical encounters — but even so, his soul remains empty.
One day, overwhelmed by an unnamed sorrow, Hayakawa escapes to the rooftop of his school. There, in a space where the sky and the sea seem to merge into one, he instinctively hums a melody he thought he’d long forgotten.
It’s on that rooftop where he meets his classmate, Konno Ryouhei (played by Hirano Kohshu). Though Konno seems cold and reserved, Hayakawa finds himself deeply drawn to the way Konno sincerely engages with his beloved camera. Yet, as he watches Konno pursue his passion with unwavering dedication, Hayakawa is overcome with jealousy and insecurity.
These complicated emotions swell inside him until they erupt — and Hayakawa blurts out things he never intended to say.
From that moment, their relationship begins to shift… evolving from friendship into something more.
The story continues into their university years.
Konno is now attending an art school, majoring in photography, just as he had dreamed. Meanwhile, the connection between him and Hayakawa has grown distant.
But fate intervenes once more — and a twist of events brings them back together…
📷 The series will consist of 8 episodes and premieres on FOD starting June 20.
