“You Are My Present” – a short drama starring Up Poompat on the Japanese app SWIPEDRAMA, with 20 episodes, tells the story of former lovers who meet again by chance.

Thir, the owner of a building, comes to inspect the property and meets the new tenant, Phum, who is renovating the space into a café. The moment their eyes meet, memories of their shared past resurface. As ex-lovers, the situation is awkward, yet both still harbor feelings for each other. Their conversations are always tinged with hidden meanings—sometimes teasing, sometimes sparking arguments over old matters—only to gradually soften and seem to move toward rekindling their romance.

At one point, Thir says, “I’ve changed, Phum. Let’s not see each other again,” and starts to leave. It feels like the story is turning toward drama—but before three seconds pass, he turns back, sits down, and continues talking. The series often feels as though only the basic plot is set, leaving the two actors to freely exchange dialogue, resulting in chemistry so natural that even the most dramatic moments flow effortlessly.

Soon after, Thir does it again—when the mood grows tense, he says, “I’m leaving now, really this time,” and walks downstairs with Phum, only for the two to end up staying together anyway.

“You are the only gift I have searched for all my life…”
