The Missing Piece (貌合神离), the upcoming Chinese BL adaptation, stars Marcos Hou and Rao Zihao.

The story follows a painter who, still affected by trauma from a past relationship, enters into a marriage of convenience with a powerful CEO. Their arrangement initially proceeds without complications, built on mutual benefit rather than emotional attachment.

However, the situation becomes complicated when the painter’s sister returns from abroad, bringing along her boyfriend—who unexpectedly turns out to be the painter’s former lover. This reunion brings unresolved history back into the present, disrupting the fragile balance of the current relationship.

The series centers on how past and present connections intersect, testing the boundaries between obligation, memory, and lingering emotion.
